Ghanaian footballer Mohammed Fuseini was attacked by a group of robbers in Brussels, Belgium, on Sunday, July 26, 2026.
The 24-year-old winger, who plays for Royale Union Saint-Gilloise, was sitting inside his parked car during the daytime when five men wearing hooded clothing suddenly surrounded him.
Videos shared on social media and shown on Belgian television captured the frightening moment. The attackers pulled Fuseini out of his car, held him by the neck, and forced him to the ground before taking his belongings.
According to reports from Belgian media, the robbers stole two iPhones, his wallet, and a Rolex Datejust watch worth between €8,000 and €14,000 before escaping.
Fuseini was rushed to a nearby hospital, where doctors examined him. Fortunately, he did not suffer serious injuries and was later allowed to return home.
Even after the shocking attack, the Ghana international returned to training with Union Saint-Gilloise on Monday, July 27, showing his determination to continue preparing for the new season.
Club spokesperson Thijs Roelen said the incident had been difficult for Fuseini, but confirmed that the player was physically fine and completed training with the team.
Belgian authorities also confirmed on Tuesday, July 28, 2026, that one suspect has been arrested and formally charged as investigations into the robbery continue.
