Sarah Adwoa Safo Insists Akofena Cannot Stop Her Father's Final Farewell

Sarah Adwoa Safo, daughter of the late Apostle Emeritus Professor Ing. Kwadwo Safo, has asked members of the Kristo Asafo Church and the public not to believe claims that her father's funeral has been cancelled.

Speaking on Angel Morning Show, the former Member of Parliament said her brother, Israel Kwadwo Safo, also known as Akofena, does not have the authority to cancel or postpone the funeral. She explained that he was not involved in planning the funeral and therefore cannot decide whether it should go ahead.

Adwoa Safo revealed that from the day their father passed away until the 40-day memorial service, her brother did not help with the planning, organisation, or financial support of any of the events. She said he only attended the 40-day observance with a group of people after others had done all the work.

She also reminded the public that Israel had earlier announced that he would organise their father's funeral. However, she questioned why he never fulfilled that promise.

"If he could not organise the funeral he promised, why is he now trying to stop the one that has already been fully planned?" she asked.

Adwoa Safo said she is determined to give her father a respectful and memorable burial because of the great impact he made on Ghana and the lives of many people. She believes it is her responsibility to honour him for everything he did for his family and the nation.

She shared that she was with her father during his final moments and that before he died, he gave her important responsibilities to carry out after his passing. She said she is committed to fulfilling those wishes.

According to her, the funeral plans were made in consultation with the Manhyia Palace. She said His Majesty Otumfuo Osei Tutu II played an important role in choosing the funeral dates, and the programme has received the Palace's approval through the proper traditional processes.

Adwoa Safo added that official invitations have already been sent to President John Dramani Mahama, former Presidents John Agyekum Kufuor and Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, the Speaker of Parliament, government officials, traditional leaders, and many other respected guests. She said many of them have confirmed they will attend.

She explained that all major preparations have been completed, public announcements have been made, and the funeral arrangements are ready.

"There is no reason for anyone to say the funeral has been cancelled," she stated.

Adwoa Safo ended by assuring members of the Kristo Asafo Church, supporters of Apostle Kwadwo Safo, and the Ghanaian public that the funeral will take place as scheduled. She encouraged everyone to ignore any false reports and join the family in giving the respected spiritual leader, inventor, industrialist, and philanthropist a dignified farewell.
